Celebrate Neosho

I personally think this event is stupid...for the simple reason that everyone knows it is in fact Neosho's Fourth of July Celebration, yet we have to call it Celebrate Neosho. We are not celebrating Neosho...we are celebrating America! I don't know why it bugs me so much but it does...so since it's my blog I'll complain if I want too! D.H. and I took Collier and met my MIL, SIL and all 4 nieces for the fireworks display Saturday evening. It was good clean fun, as they used to say! I really do like fireworks, but Collier wasn't so impressed this year, he was definitely ready to go home about half way through the show!

Happy Father's Day!!

My husband is honestly the best father for which I could have asked! He is funny, patient, involved and sensitive. I've enjoyed watching him over the last seven years grow into fatherhood and I often stand in awe of his ability to use humor to diffuse most any childhood fit! He really wins the prize in my mind for Best Daddy Ever!

We spent the morning pampering him, with homemade cards and breakfast in bed...pancakes, eggs with cheese, and hashbrowns just some of his favorites! The kids enjoyed helping! We spent the rest of the day with Mark's dad and family...a good ole cookout and it was yummy, we even took advantage of the beautiful weather and swam in the pool!! I really love my D.H's family so much, thankfully I married a great family, even extended family! We had a wonderful time...and I was happy to take time out of our busy weekend to say Thanks Dad! So here's to Mark...we love you!

Pee Wee Cheer Camp

Wow! Have times changed or what!? Cortlyn has joined the PeeWee Cheer Squad this year, which I couldn't be more excited about, but honestly things are so different from when I was a PeeWee Cheerleader! This whole week they've had cheer camp for 3 hours a day...they learned two cheers, six chants, and one dance. All of this they will use during the football season...they will begin practicing closer to season and learn more chants, but just the intensity of it all shocked me! They ordered uniforms from the same place we ordered our HS Varsity uniforms...and wow they are "grown up"! That's probably just the mom in my talking! Regardless, Cortlyn had a blast, she learned a lot in a short period of time and she can't wait for it all to begin.
The last night of camp was "Show Off Night", she did so well and her grade won the overall camp spirit stick which they get to keep until next years camp! Of course the moment we arrived at the performance my camera battery went dead, so I have absolutely no pictures, but just imagine a very excited PeeWee Cheerleader!
